Diverse and upgraded accommodations await Korean F1 Grand Prix visitors
This year’s visitors to the Korea’s Formula 1 Grand Prix will benefit a wider selection of accommodation. For the second Grand Prix event, the Formula One International Grand Prix Organizing Committee aims to run an improved lodging reservation system with up to 40,000 rooms.
Lodging facilities adjacent to the Yeongam circuit include 59 luxury hotels and 147 upgraded “F1 Hotels,” along with a selection of unique lodging opportunities such as temple stays, homestays, Hanok (Korean traditional house) stays, family-run pensions, camping and cruises.
The homestay program was a popular introduction to the lodging options last year, and this year benefits from an extended network of participating families. The organizing committee is currently in the process of receiving homestay applications, from which 200 successful families with be selected based on their home circumstances, language proficiency and other factors.
The 2011 season for Formula 1 kicked off with the opening of Qantas Australian Grand Prix on March 24. The Korea F1 Grand Prix will take place from October 14 to 16, at the Korea International Circuit in Yeongam.
