Weekend Caricature Event at Major Tourist Sites in Seoul

Every weekend from April to October, between 1:00 and 6:00 pm, visitors to Seoul can combine their sightseeing with a unique, artistic experience—souvenir caricatures. Throughout the spring, summer, and early fall, three to four artists will be set up at each of the following major tourist destinations: Gwanghwamun Square (representative square of the capital), Dream Forest (major park in the Gangbuk region north to the Hangang River), Sunyoudo Park (one of Seoul’s most famous ecological parks), Jabeolle cultural complex at Ttukseom Hangang Park and the Seoul Animation Center (Mecca of cartoon and animation on Namsan Mountain).

For a small fee (5,000 won per person), artists will draw cartoon portraits of visitors (individuals or groups) using a variety of art materials such as pastels and colored inks. Through this caricature event, visitors will have a chance to take home a personalized, affordable keepsake of their outing, date, or trip to Seoul.
