Half price 2011 Korean Formula 1 Grand Prix tickets sold out

Tickets for the 2011 Korean Formula 1 Grand Prix on sale for half price have sold out, with more than one million tickets having been purchased. The original deadline for half price purchases was the end of March, but the promotion finished early when all tickets were sold before the end of the month. The Grand Prix will be held at the Korea International Circuit from October 14-16.

More than half the purchasers bought tickets to the finals, and 36 percent purchased 3-day tickets, covering the entire event. Most of the tickets were purchased by people in their thirties, at 42 percent, followed by 26 percent purchased by spectators in their twenties and 24 by fans in their forties. Nearly 80 percent of the purchases were made by men.

“There were a lot of requests to sell more tickets for half price, but we decided to end the event because we were limited to one million tickets in the beginning,” said a Grand Prix staff member. In April, another set of tickets will be made available at a 30 percent discount.
