Incheon Airport marks 10th anniversary

Incheon International Airport held a ceremony on March 29 to mark its tenth anniversary. Since opening, Incheon Airport has consistently been recognized for its outstanding quality of service, winning the award for Best Airport Worldwide in Airport Service Quality six years in a row. The airport also ranks eighth in the world for the number of passengers and second in the world in terms of trade volume, thanks to efficient, customer oriented management.
Due to the efficient management of its facilities, Incheon Airport has been able to cooperate with other facilities to shorten the time it takes for immigration checks. Currently, it takes only 16 minutes to be processed for departure and 12 minutes for arrival documents to be processed, well below the 60 and 45 averages reported by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

This is partially because Korea has eliminated departure forms and rentry stamps for Korean citizens and simplified the forms for foreigners seeking entry. Additionally, the airport has installed automated entry and departure machines to reduce times even further.
The airport has also reduced the time needed to complete the ticket issuing process. Fifty-five self check-in machines have been installed in the airport, further streamlining the process of getting passengers through the airport.

Incheon Airport has taken several steps to make even the briefest visit pleasant, with various programs to introduce Korean culture to visitors.
Traditional music, jazz and classical concerts have been held, and the fourth floor has a space dedicated to providing cultural experiences.
Furthermore, the airport’s duty-free mall ranks third in sales world, following Dubai International Airport and London’s Heathrow International Airport.
