Hangang Yeouido Spring Flower Festival" will open on April 8 2011

Every year nearly 4 million people visit the Hangang Yeouido Spring Flower Festival, one of the most famous festivals in Seoul. This year (2011) the festival is scheduled to run for 16 days, from April 8 (Friday) to April 19 (Tuesday).

During the festival period some 90,000 spring flowers (18 species) will be in full bloom, including cherry trees, azaleas, forsythia, and royal azaleas. Cars will have limited access to the roads around the National Assembly building during the festival period, allowing visitors more room to walk along the street, enjoy the cherry blossoms, and get a wide-open view of the nearby Hangang River. At night, special LED lights will set a gentle glow over the cherry blossoms and during the day, visitors will be entertained by a wide range of street performances and exhibitions.
